$$$ COSTS $$$

About how much is this trip going to cost? Of course, many factors go into the cost of the trip, but "ballpark" figures are as follows, based on past teams who have come down:

These costs figured PER PERSON.  These costs DO NOT include airfare or transportation to and from the airport.

All figures are U.S. dollars.  You can convert this to pesos using the current dollar/peso exchange rate. (you can figure the current rate at http://www.xe.com/ucc/ )

$20/day food

$25/night  (based on $50/night room for two)

$3/day transportation

$2/day insurance*

$50/week miscellaneous

*The International Mission Board requires that all volunteers purchase insurance to cover personal injury, illness, or loss while in a foreign country. This will cost about two dollars per day. The insurance can be purchased once you have your project number either through the IMB or by calling Adams and Associates at 800-922-8436, email aai@aaintl.com or visit their website at www.aaintl.com

These costs are approximate and based on costs when this website was written (September 2005).  Prices are not exact and are subject to change.
